The Vault

The cosy performance space within The Vault is framed by a stone archway that creates a proscenium arch feel in an authentic Fringe space.

The Vault is renowned for atmospheric productions that capture the imagination of audiences, such as Vampires in the Vault, Magdalen and Rats! as well as intimate comedy such as improv experts Blind Mirth.

4m x 3m. Flat concrete stage, with the performance area covered with black dance floor.

Wing spaces are defined by black drapes, which are also used to create a cross-over behind the performance area.

Access
Access to The Vault is via a short set of stairs or a wheelchair lift, with space for wheelchairs at the front of the fixed seating rake.

Technical Specification

Lighting
The general cover is a 5 area wash using 650W fresnels. There is an LED colour wash compromising of 4 ETC ColorSource Pars. There are three Source4 Jr lanterns available for spotlights or gobo effects. There are additional LED PARs providing side and back-lighting.

Control is an ETC Colorsource 20.

Sound
A PA with an 8-channel mixer is available for your use. There a 3.5mm input available at the technical desk in the stage left wing. An SM58 microphone and stand are provided. Radio mics can be provided at an extra cost.

Projection
A projector is hung from the grid and focussed on the back tab or a simple screen. The image is approximately 2.5m wide. 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution at 4000 ANSI lumens. HDMI connection is are available at the technical desk.

QLab
A Mac Mini with QLab 4 is available for playback of sound and projection from the technical desk.

The Sanctuary

The Sanctuary seats 110 and is our largest performance space. It is a beautiful and flexible space making it particularly suitable for larger scale works.

The Studio

The Studio seats up to 107 depending on chosen layout. It is our most flexible space and features a wide stage.

The Snug

The Snug is our new intimate performance space with 30 seats.

The Annexe

The Annexe, seats 45 and has a black box stage which you can transform to suit your performance.
