COVID-19 Update

Performing Companies

At the time of opening applications for the 2021 Festival, we were optimistic and hopeful that the full Fringe experience would be back to where it was in 2019, or close to it. However, in light of the Scottish Government’s continuing position on restrictions and following conversations with fellow venues, it is clear the festival that we know and love will be far from the experience we usually expect this year. The experience of our performing companies has always been our priority. Sadly, in this situation we do not believe we can offer an experience that matches our expectations of what you deserve.

Considering all of this, we have taken the very difficult decision to cancel our in-person Fringe programme for 2021. If you wish to take advantage of the Fringe Society’s online offering, please get in touch with us.

We will be issuing full refunds of the venue hire and registration fees. Please complete this form to provide us with your banking details so we can organise this. We will process your refunds once we’ve received the money for the refunded registration fees from the Fringe Society.

Things are always changing, and we do not want to rule out anything from happening in Edinburgh in August, however, the fringe as we’ve come to know it will not be happening this year. We’ll continue to keep a close eye on the situation and will be in touch if any performances would be possible. If anything is possible it is likely to be on a short term pop-up basis.

We hope to be able to return for a full Fringe experience in 2022 and can’t wait to have you performing with us again. Please email us at if you have any questions in the meantime.

You should have received an email from us explaining the situation. If you have any questions, please email us at
