Box Office Information
Box Office system
All shows at Paradise Green must be ticketed, and those tickets are issued using a box office system called Red61 VIA. This is the same box office system as the Fringe Society, which allows us both to sell from the same allocation. We operate a box office in each venue and a telephone box office during the festival. We are also a ticket collection point for the Fringe Society.
Free shows & Pay What You Want
Free shows must still be ticketed, but those tickets will be given out for free at the box office. We normally recommend against issuing free tickets before the day of the performance, as people with advance tickets often do not come to the performance.
Pay What You Want (PWYW) allows companies to ask audience members to pay what they feel the show is worth, normally in a hat or bucket at the end of the performance. This collection is administered by the performing company, however we can offer the ability to sell a ticket in advance to allow audience members to guarantee entry.
Audience members who wish to buy a ticket to guarantee entry may purchase one from the Box Office. They will be admitted to the auditorium first followed by customers who choose to Pay What They Want, on a first-come-first-served basis.
There are a number of situations when a show should have warnings attached to it. For example if your show contains nudity, strong language, unsuitable themes for children, strobe lighting etc. We will automatically include any warnings you provide us when completing your Fringe Society Registration, but you must update us if these change.
House Managers Margin
We hold back a small margin of tickets for each performance, which is released by the House Manager shortly before each performance. This allows us to better manage our audiences, and to mitigate against any occasional problems (e.g. large buggies).
Paradise Green is permitted to issue up to 6 tickets per performance at our sole discretion. These tickets must be authorised by a Paradise Green Director, and will normally only be issued to VIPs, invited guests and to resolve complaints.
Our official stance on latecomers to a performance is they are not accepted. However we appreciate that most Fringe companies would rather have the ticket sales so, unless we are told otherwise by your company, we will accept latecomers and allow them into the performance at an appropriate point.
Early on sale
Because we assemble our programme with slots of different length according to the needs of the performing companies, we cannot assign final show times until our programme is complete, around the time of the Fringe deadline. This means that it is not possible to put tickets on sale earlier than this.
