A Special Boy a new play by Caroline Bird (short-listed for the Dylan Thomas Prize 2008 - for the best young writer in the English-speaking world.) Tansy has always been the main carer for her special-needs brother. When he is the victim of a cruel practical joke, she turns her hairdressing salon into an interrogation room. One of her targets is Viktor, an ideological shop assistant. He happens to be dating Miss Taylor, a young fascist teaching at the local school. ‘A Special Boy’ is an incisive and barbed satire on modern values.
