TAINTED Tainted is a collaborative, London based, performance company. We are dedicated to exploring the relationships between art, space and spectator. Within this dynamic we aspire to push the boundaries of conventional theatre practice and search for unconventional performance spaces. Tainted aims at producing financially affordable theatre available to a vast range of audiences. Tainted is formed of 13 members, it is proud to boast of the cultural diversity within the company, and is always seeking further cultural exchanges through art practices. Tainted has performed at: The Estorick Collection, (London); Shunt Lounge, (London); Futurist Conference, Queen Mary’s University, (London); Let’s Murder The Moonshine: 100 Years of Futurism, (London); The Gallery Space, (London) This Summer Tainted has curated: Tainted Cruise Lines: A Voyage into Burlesque, Battersea Barge, (London); The Balcony, by Jean Genet, (London); Print and Trace: Live Art Celled Out, New Cross Police Station, (London) Tainted’s Future Projects include: Artaud Festival, (London, Oct. 09); Beirut Arts Festival, (Lebanon, Dec. 09) The Futurist Orchestra The Futurist Orchestra: an experiment into the relationship between the voice and the body. How does one affect the other? As the performers move through the space reacting to each other, the audience is forced to face the reality that theatre isn’t always as expected and this is an orchestra that will definitely not be forgotten! Draw your own conclusions to this eccentric performance that has been born as a reaction to the 100th anniversary of the Futurist movement. Futurism; an Avant-garde movement established by F.T. Marinetti in 1909. A love for speed and machinery acted as a catalyst for its destructive progression. We hope this performance will inspire you as Futurism has inspired us. Prepare to be transported into a bizarre fairytale world unlike anything seen before; it will make you question everything you believed as a child. The puppet master is desperate for company….while the puppet is desperate for freedom, this is one relationship that is destined to fail. Who do you trust if you can’t trust your creator?
