This is the actual worship area of the building, and is on the entrance level. It is a large, beautiful and extremely flexible space. It is particularly suitable for larger scale works, such as musicals and school/youth group performances.
The seating capacity is 110 on a grandstand-style raked seating rig. Access to the grandstand seating is up a stepped central aisle from the stage area. The stage area includes a raised dais approximately 300mm (12') high, with intermediate step at front and sides. Wing spaces are defined by black drapes, which are also used to create a cross-over behind the performance area.
The lighting grid in this space is built up from the balcony level of the church, leaving the floor clear. The overall height of the nave is around 10m (32'). Headroom to beneath the balcony in the wings is 3.0m.
The exact lighting specification will depend on the final program in this space. The basic lighting to the main regions of the stage will be 6 area general cover. Colour is provided by parcans and 6 intelligent wash lights. There are also a number of conventional profiles available for use as spots and gobo projectors, as well as 3 intelligent profiles. We can be more flexible on technical requirements in this space than in our studio spaces so please talk to us about any special requirements. (If we have to hire in extra equipment this may incur extra costs but we will endeavour to keep the price down.) A comprehensive sound system is also provided.
