We require you to take out an entry in the Fringe Programme under your own “Main Heading”. Payment for this participation fee (which gives you an entry under your group’s name) also entitles you to the use of the support and facilities of the Fringe Office.
Your entry in the Fringe Programme is the single most important marketing opportunity for your show. The 40 words of copy you submit for the fringe brochure are crucial as 85% of people visiting the fringe use the fringe brochure as their primary resource for choosing which shows to see. It is therefore vital to make sure that your copy stands out. Think about who your target audience is, what your themes are and how to best describe your show. Use quotes if you can and avoid standard superlatives which can be used to describe any show.
Your Fringe Programme entry is submitted through the Fringe Website www.edfringe.com and you should have received information from the Fringe Office as to how to find this section. There is a substantial discount if your entry is in by the 20th March, and the final deadline is 10th April.
Below are answers to many of the common questions that arise when companies are completing the form:
- The venue name is “Paradise in Augustine’s”, "Paradise in the Kirkhouse" or “Paradise in The Vault”
- The venue manager’s name is “Thomas Sandford”
- Venue telephone number: 0131 510 0119
- Venue email: firstname.lastname@example.org
- Venue Box Office Number: 0131 510 0022
- Venue website: www.paradise-green.co.uk
We also confirm the above information directly with the Fringe together with performance space and seating capacity.
Since we operate on a straight hire basis, the box office payout can go straight to your company or the person filling out the copy form unless we have informed you otherwise in writing.
Fringe Ticket Allocation
We run a "Linked" Box Office which enables any authorised sales point to sell from the entire "pool" of tickets until the performance is sold out. This means that the "Fringe Allocation" figure isn't actually relevant. However the form still insists on a value for it, so please enter 27 for Augustines, 15 for the Kirkhouse Hall and 10 for the Vault spaces and the Kirkhouse Workshop - which are the normal default values.
We recommend specifying the standard 4 press + 2 promoter tickets per performance for the Fringe press allocation.
If you have not yet received your contract, or otherwise received an indication of show start time, put a show start time of 12:00 - this makes it easy for us to find when we submit our corrections to the Fringe Office.
Bear in mind that we reserve the right to adjust slot times by up to 45 minutes until the Fringe programme deadline. If we make any changes post contract we will submit proof corrections to the Fringe Office to ensure the time is correct in the programme as well as letting you know.
