Our venues are programmed by selection from the applications we receive each year.

Our general programme emphasis is on theatre, but this encompasses a wide range of art forms. That includes musicals, dance & physical theatre, performance poetry and some music. Because we are concerned with your overall fringe experience we programme Revue and Sketch-based comedy less frequently -- we feel there are other spaces which are better suited to these genres. Similarly, we do not normally programme Stand-up comedy. This is because we do not have a liquor license -- and Stand-up comedy often works better with one -- as well as being a genre generally less suited to a theatre environment.

Augustine's Sanctuary and Studio tend to be programmed with more established works and/or groups, as well as with shows with larger cast sizes. We also specialise in musical theatre and musicals.

The Vault works particularly well for new and experimental work as well as for groups performing smaller scale versions of established works.

Selection is by a programming panel - all applications received through our web application form will be scrutinised by the panel. We may get back to you with questions about your proposal, particularly if we are unsure about the date/time/space choices you have made.

The programme is built up on a rolling basis from mid-January onwards with offers being made to the selected shows, and then new offers made to fill any gaps until the programme is full.
